Where Do You Get Your Protein?

Roger is now two weeks into his health transformation and he’s feeling transformed with more energy. In this episode we help Roger, and you, answer the most popular question when it comes to a whole-food plant-based way of eating: “Where do you get your protein?” We explain the importance of protein, we dispel the myth that protein equals meat, and we encourage everyone to “steer” clear of animal sources of protein in order to avoid a long list of serious health problems including many cancers.
Athletes who are concerned about not getting enough protein on a plant-based diet should check out world strongman Patrik Baboumian and ultra-endurance athlete Rich Roll, who are just two examples of plant-based athletes who out-perform meat-based athletes.
The take-home message from today’s episode is that there are many plant-based sources of protein (beans, quinoa, nuts, seeds, etc.) and their package does the body good, in contrast to animal sources of protein (meat, fish, poultry, dairy) which come in a package that also contain harmful sources of fat, cholesterol, acid, etc.
